Common questions
Is it free to list?
Yes. Creating a listing or tradesperson profile is completely free. We charge a 12% commission only when a booking is completed and payment is released.
How does payment work?
We use Stripe to process all payments securely. When a hirer books, their payment is held in escrow. It's released to you once the hire period begins. Deposits are held and returned automatically.
What if something goes wrong?
We have a dispute resolution process. If there's damage, a no-show, or another issue, contact our support team within 48 hours and we'll mediate. This is why we recommend listers always have insurance.
Do I need insurance?
For items, we strongly recommend public liability insurance. For tradespeople, it's required to get the Insured badge and is increasingly expected by customers. You can upload proof during listing setup.
How are tradespeople verified?
Tradespeople can upload proof of insurance, Gas Safe registration, NICEIC certification and other credentials. Our team reviews each document. Verified tradespeople get a badge on their profile.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, but cancellation policies vary by listing. Check the lister's terms before booking. If a lister cancels on you, you'll receive a full refund automatically.
What areas do you cover?
We're UK-wide and growing. Most listings are currently concentrated in major cities — Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London — but we're adding new areas every week.
